Centene formally known as WellCare | Tampa, FL

Design and develop learner-focused instructional materials including training modules, manuals, role play scenarios, facilitator guides, self-paced study, and multimedia solutions for a blended learning environment.  Use a systematic instructional design process to create and evaluate training programs and deliver a highly engaging “edutainment” experience for adult learners.

Selected Accomplishments:

  • Lead end-to-end development of blended learning programs, including training modules, facilitator guides, multimedia content, and interactive experiences tailored for adult learners.

  • Partnered with national sales leadership to design and deliver broker onboarding curricula and annual open enrollment training programs, supporting over 40,000 external brokers with scalable, compliance-driven learning solutions.

  • Spearheaded enterprise-wide executive learning journeys focused on emotional intelligence, crucial conversations, and active listening—driving measurable cultural transformation across leadership.

  • Directed large-scale instructional design projects from concept to launch, managing timelines, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional delivery to ensure high-impact outcomes.

  • Mentored junior instructional designers and contractors, providing guidance on design best practices, accessibility standards, and project execution strategies.

  • Built scalable systems and templates for project management, resource planning dashboards, and technology roadmaps to streamline team operations and improve delivery consistency.

  • Served as a lead for Centene’s Women’s I.N.S.P.I.R.E. Tampa Chapter, organizing 150+ engagement events and increasing membership by 33% to over 800 employees.

Instructional Designer (8/2014 - 8/2017)

University of South Florida | Tampa, FL

Responsible for overall educational content design; leveraging experience in communication, technology, and instructional design across a range of media formats and platforms.   Collaborates with faculty, administrators, and staff to discuss and develop online college courses, packaged program content, presentations, and / or marketing information in support of USF and the College of Nursing educational and institutional goals.

Selected Accomplishments:

  • Conceptualized and implemented multiple course refinements utilizing best practices from QM; improving both student and instructor interface and experience.

  • Lead team to develop a Critical Incident and Disaster Preparedness training program that included an online course and corresponding live disaster simulation.  The course was an interdisciplinary initiative across multiple medical colleges and the first time anything of this scale had been attempted.

  • Developed an onboarding training program for new faculty to orient them to teaching in an online environment and familiarize them with the unique challenges and opportunities it presents.

  • Provided training and support to faculty and staff on Canvas and related technologies.

 
​Elementary Teacher (2/2014 - 6/2014)

Norman H. Schwarzkopf Elementary | Lutz, FL

Elementary educator who served as an assistant and primary teacher, providing instructional support to classroom students in a public K-5 school. Developed and executed lesson plans, assisted with special needs students and various ad-hoc roles.

  • Recognized by administrators for gains made in improving classroom behavioral problems for ESE students over a 2 months span; leading to a better learning environment for all students.

  • Acknowledged by other teachers and staff for flexibility and willingness to provide support in any capacity.

 

Information Technology Analyst (11/2007 - 4/2013)

Duke Energy (formerly known as Progress Energy)

Responsible for analyzing and supporting proposed IT solutions in support of overall plant management and operations. Led numerous software applications and hardware configuration projects for cross-functioning customers.

  • Conceptualized and designed five software-training classes for various end-user groups in support of central engineering and plant operations; training directly contributed to a $1M cost savings. 

  • Created scores of software/application user manuals, technical manuals, and online change management knowledge base entries for quick retrieval by first level support personnel.

  • Delivered several enterprise-level application enhancements and server/network/controls replacement projects to ensure continuous excellence; improved data uptime metrics to greater than 99.7%.

  • Advised the "Smart Grid Development Team" on efficient energy saving applications; drove enterprise wide programs in support of new power plants and transmission line construction.

  • Overhauled outdated CEMS in support of companywide operations; new software implementation resulted in compliance and cost savings of $8M.  

  • Received Special Recognition Merit Award by VP level executive.

 

 

Information Technology Consultant (3/2001 - 11/2007)

GOST, Inc. | St. Petersburg, FL

​Independent IT consultant for Duke Energy. Provided key first level IT systems, software and project management support to various customers in support of client's business operations.

  • Served as the project manager for the "Data Historian Systems" project valued at $10M.

  • Oversaw business critical hardware, software and network installations at various power plants spanning across the southeast region.

  • Developed and launched predictive maintenance suite of applications for Duke Energy plant operations throughout the southeast. Project directly saved over $7M and optimized energy output by roughly 10%.

 

Oman Consulting

​Teaching Assistant 2000 - 2001

 

Supported professor and mentor with administrative functions of conducting classes.  Designed and developed website and online tutoring white board used as an aide not only for in class students, but for a much more global web audience as well.

  • Designed and setup website using HTML, JavaScript, and ASP for students to access course study material. 

  • Designed and developed a web based online white board that enabled users to chat in real-time and work through physics problem examples.  Drawing tools within the white board application included common physics and mathematical symbols such as summation (∑), pi (π), derivative (ʆ), etc.

Served as a volunteer reading mentor to a group of five underperforming students.Utilizing the “Building Better Readers” training guide by Deborah Gist-Evans was able to coach the students to reading at grade level.

Responsible for assisting in providing informal educational programming utilizing Girl Scouts program materials through progressive learning experiences for girls in the troop.
